If you are receiving error 18:

  1. Make sure you have the very latest version of iTunes (double check)
  2. Restart WipeDrive Mobile (it’ll download a new IPSW that was released)
  3. Try it again.

If the problem persists:

  1. Clear the IPSW cache: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
  2. Try to perform the restore/recovery in iTunes directly
    1. If it works in iTunes, try to perform the wipe again with Mobile.
  3.  Does it work this time?
    1. If it doesn’t, you should contact Apple support—something is likely wrong with the device or iTunes.
