How to Boot from a CD or USB

Changing the boot order on a computer tells the computer to find the device you selected and boot from it. In order to run WipeDrive, you will want to manually boot from the USB/CD.  To do this, please refer to the following instructions:

1) Completely power off the computer.

2) Insert the USB/CD and power on the computer.

3) Your computer will now boot up and you will see a quick prompt that tells you to press X key for “Boot Options” or “Startup Options” (exact verbiage varies from brand to brand). Quickly press the appropriate key to enter the Boot Menu.

Please Note: If the Windows/Apple logo appears, the computer has gone too far and will need to be restarted. If done correctly, a menu will open before Windows starts. For a list of common booting keys, please refer to the following:

4)  You will want to change the menu settings by selecting to boot from the USB or CD. You can do this either under UEFI or Legacy, depending on your machine. UEFI is the recommended option if it is available.

5) The software will now load.

Please make sure the USB is bootable and is formatted to FAT32. For instructions on creating a bootable USB, please refer to the following:
