Which Government / Military Overwrite Standard is Correct?
Solution There is no single correct standard for wiping hard drives and removable media used by the government or military. Each department of the government and military tends to have their own policies and maintains their own internal standards when it comes to wiping sensitive information from hard drives and removable media.

However, our WhiteCanyon products such as WipeDrive, MediaWiper, and SecureClean, do include some of the more well-known standards, including the DoD (Department of Defense) standard.

NOTE: Keep in mind that most technology used today requires only one single wipe pass, rather than repeated wipes, to completely sanitize your drive and make all data completely and safely unrecoverable. For more details on how one wipe is all that is needed, click here.
